Among people who know me, I am known for my gift-giving, food/parties and decorating. On the business side, I am a constant observer of advertising. Always figuring out if a particular marketing idea is working. I have ideas that are outside the box and I am known to always get the job done. I notice almost every customer interaction that could be better and why it could be better. Coloring outside the lines in past management roles sometimes left me feeling unsatisfied. Wondering if the people I was working with just didn’t get it. Thankfully I learned from the best and excelled working with people who did indeed “get it”. These mentors were more interested in getting results and treating people right than petty arguments and ego.
own my own business from the time I was a little girl. It took many twists and turns to get here, but alas, here I am. Today I am a business owner, wife and sister (and mommy to a couple of 4-legged faithful companions).
I am also a creative
I own Adoublem Management Solutions which began as an advanced “freelance” operations group. In the beginning, Adoublem managed operations, staff management and design/branding projects. Since then, we’ve done a lot of branding and design projects and nowadays spend most of our focus here.
On this blog I write about what it’s like to live
If you’re in business for yourself…
- Why does someone come to your blog or website?
- Do your regular customers or visitors recommend your products or services to other people?
- How do your customers feel when they interact with you?
What is the most important thing you should do?
Regardless of how overwhelmed you feel (remember it’s just a feeling), how much training you feel you still need to complete, or the fact that you don’t know everything, the most important thing you need to do is take action. Move forward. There is so much truth to the quote “The path unfolds as I take the steps”. Success will not come if you are standing still.
Don’t get stuck trying to be “perfect” and trying to do everything right while your business slips through your fingers.
The twists and turns of life.
When we graduated from school we may have had a plan of what we wanted to accomplish in our lifetime but life has a way of twisting and turning, doesn’t it? The truth is life doesn’t typically go as planned.
Too many people are feeling “stuck” in their life, most especially stuck in a job or career that’s not going anywhere, or worse, that doesn’t fit in with who they genuinely are. Many are working for abusive or untalented bosses feeling like they are wasting their life away. They are left feeling hopeless, unsure of what to do about it.
Here’s the truth…you can decide today to change your thinking and start walking in the direction of your future – the future you are supposed to live (I did it and so can you!).
This will not resonate with everyone. But that’s okay. Most people think they are fine with the status quo and that’s not a bad thing.
I used to wish I could be them. I didn’t want to worry about pushing myself to live a more authentic life. I wanted to commiserate with all of them, complain about my gosh-darn-awful job and then pep up just in time for happy hour on Friday. It would have been much easier. But alas, I was not wired that way.
Instead I did the opposite. I bucked the system.
My work experience comes from the corporate world, retail management and being an entrepreneur. These experiences may have taken place in different environments but in each of these roles I was a manager, a leader or both. I spent my adult life studying what makes some leaders/managers succeed and what makes others fail, as well as what it means to treat employees and customers the right way.
Lucky for me, I learned from those who did it right.
My career went through several twists and turns – at times it was exhilarating and at other times it was devastating. After one of the devastating times, I started Adoublem and haven’t looked back.
I. FINDING PURPOSE IN YOUR LIFE & CAREER
You can’t fully participate in your life if you feel stuck, right? Part of taking responsibility for your life is deciding to make a change if you are unhappy.
The truth is no one else will care if you are miserable.
It is up to you to take the first step.
So, why are many people stuck in jobs or careers they can’t stand? If people are miserable at their job, why don’t they just leave? Hint: there is a common reason for this. We’ll explore the reasons we lose our way and what to do about it. Sometimes it’s best to stay put where we are – we’ll discuss the pros & cons of changing paths. If you’ve already taken the leap to a new path (bravo!), we’ll talk about ways to keep focused, motivated and reaching your goal.
What about the stress of working with a crazy boss? It can wreak havoc on your health, mental state & self-esteem. We’ll talk about how to get it all back.
II. DISCOVERING YOUR BRAND: IS IT A REFLECTION OF YOU?
A brand is so much more than your logo or the colors you decide to use. It’s about the way people feel when they interact with you.
- What does a customer think about your business when they look at your website or your social media pages?
- Is your company representing what you’re trying to say to the world?
- Why do you think someone would come back to your website?
- Who are your competitors and why are you the better choice?
When you take a step back and look at your whole business, whether you’re an entrepreneur, blogger or both – does your brand reflect you? If not, it’s time to make a change.
We’ll talk about your website and what you must include on it. How many times do we go to a website and the most important thing we’re looking for is not there, anywhere? Find out the key points you need to have on your site, pronto!
Do your customers feel appreciated? How you handle the small details of your business (such as listening to & thanking your customers) speaks loudly about you and your brand.
III. WORKING EXCELLENTLY: MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP
Doesn’t it bother you to go in a store and hear the sales person say “we can’t do that” or just “I don’t know”, without trying to help you? This is a big no-no and unacceptable in my book. I’ll let you in early on a little secret – this is never the employee’s fault.
All business owners and leaders are responsible for getting results and moving their business forward. If it’s you in charge, you owe it to those around you to know what you’re doing. I’ll show you how to lead the right way, whether you’re managing people, processes or projects.
And what about the way we treat each other? I am passionate about this topic and I hope you are too. We’ll talk about the importance of treating people well in every area of your life.
As a leader it is important to empower people, not break them down. People work best when they are valued and when they are able to create, contribute and be who they are. This can make all the difference. This applies to how you treat your audience, freelancers, vendors and service providers too. What goes around comes around.
IV. HELPFUL TOOLS: BUSINESS PROCESSES SIMPLIFIED!
There are many great resources out there for growing your business and taking it to the next level. But you can easily spend thousands of dollars taking courses and still get nowhere with your business. That’s because there is so much information it can be overwhelming.
Bottom line, you must take action. Courses and information are great, but too much information can debilitate you and provide you with excuses to do nothing (or this is what I’ve heard). :-) You’ll need to take what you learn and apply it even if you don’t feel 100% ready. Be yourself and trust your instincts – I bet you already know what you should be doing. Now go do it!
V. BEING A CREATIVE
Of course, we can’t forget to talk about what it’s actually like living life following your passion and being a creative entrepreneur. It’s simple to list what needs to be done but it’s much harder to get it done. Working for yourself is an amazing thing but I often say no sees the tears, sweat, and incredible hard work that goes into this.
In this section, you’ll find stories that are more personal in nature about the day to day life of being an entrepreneur. It’ll include the ups & downs, the doubts (oh, the doubts!), the successes, fears and everything in between. I’ll share my attempts at having a more balanced life – because when you work for yourself you sometimes have to make yourself just stop and be normal.
Two bonus sections:
So, a little more background on me. My friends and family tell me I love to analyze things, or maybe it’s more that I have an opinion on a lot of things. I see the details in life, it comes naturally to me. In fact, my mind just can’t not do this.
A few years back my nearest and dearest coined the term Anitaisms to describe my little observations of the world. So be on the lookout for Anitaisms throughout the blog.
What’s an ism? An ism is defined as a movement, doctrine, or system of belief, and that’s what “Anitaisms” are. They are common-sense pearls of wisdom that will be offered as quick, easy takeaways.
2. Entrepreneur Connection Section
A while back I was reminiscing about working in an office environment and how I missed the regular chitchat that would go on. I was the same type-A person back then too, so I was often on the run but my coworkers and I would always fit in a little TV conversation or exchange information about our newest fashion or makeup find. I knew about their families and celebrated their birthdays. We also talked out problems and solutions which made us better at our jobs.
It was part of connecting at work and I realized that working for myself, I didn’t have that anymore. (The other giveaway was seeing my husband’s face after a lengthy discussion on why the Bobbi Brown extra lip tint I just bought was far superior than the regular lip balm I was using before.)
I had an idea – why couldn’t we virtually connect like this? Answer is, we can. Join us in the Entrepreneur Connection Section (ECS for short) whenever you can and share your entrepreneurial musings or favorite recipes (cocktails included!). I’m excited to share my favorite things with you too.
How often do I post?
I usually post once a week, sometimes a little more. You can expect to see short video trainings in the future as well.
Please sign-up for updates so you don’t miss anything.[mc4wp_form id=”3164″]

My friend, it is time to soar!
About Adoublem Management Services.
Adoublem began as a services solutions company in 2012, managing people, projects and processes. Today, Adoublem focuses primarily on managing branding and creative design projects.
As fellow entrepreneurs, we take our business and your projects very seriously. We treat every client with the respect they deserve, and the work they bring with the utmost care & careful attention to detail. Every project is treated professionally & with the strictest confidentiality.
I was fortunate to have several important business mentors in my life, four in particular. The combination of what I learned from these four individuals (I must put this in a book one day!) and the years I put their wisdom into practice added tremendously to my experiences.
It was in part because of lessons I learned from them and years of hard work, that I created Adoublem. In contrast to the mentors I just mentioned, I also worked for less-than-perfect companies (being nice ) & managers which led me to better understand what makes a person or a company successful and what can make them fail.
I spent over two decades working in management for corporations like Microsoft & retail companies like Estée Lauder with responsibilities for organizations from 10 people to over 100. In 2006 I designed & developed The Popcorn Suite, a gourmet food & popcorn business which grew to be a successful company from the ground up. The Popcorn Suite was featured on The Rachael Ray Show, Fortune Small Business Magazine, and CNNMoney.com. The Popcorn Suite was also part of the red carpet VIP gift area for The Teen Choice Awards, The Golden Globes, The Sundance Film Festival and had regular celebrity customers.
WE BELIEVE IN EXCEPTIONAL WORK AND SERVICE. WE ARE COMMITTED TO YOUR SUCCESS.
Adoublem is located in the Greater Philadelphia Area in Pennsylvania and we work with clients throughout the United States. It is our hope that our company will become a valued business resource to you.
I would love to hear from you. Contact me any time!

Fun facts you may not know about me.
I married my college sweetheart, Dan, who at that time was studying to be a priest before we dated. Now we’re happily married and he’s studying to be a deacon. ;-) (Update – he was ordained a deacon in June 2017!)
I am inspired by genuine, warm and creative people. Someone like Ina Garten who makes even her TV friends feel loved and welcomed. I am passionate about design, whether decorating my home or designing websites for my clients.
I am known for my love of planning parties and giving gifts. I pay special attention to the details and keep things festive but simple. When I have people over I want them to feel at home like they want to stay a while. Coincidentally, I do this for my business now with corporate event planning and business gift giving.
I’m lucky to have my sister Maria and brother-in-law Paul, both licensed counselors, living close by. In addition to counseling, Maria is a writer and Paul runs a non-profit. At least once a week Maria and I work together at a library or café (best day of the week for me).
My guilty pleasure would have to be reality TV. 🤫 I say I’m done with it all the time, but it’s never the case. Truth is, it clears my head. With fast forward I can get through 2 hours of the Bachelor in about 20 minutes if I need to. If you’re a Bachelor fan (or a closet Bachelor fan), check out Reality Steve’s blog on the topic. It makes watching the show more fun.
Last but not least, my husband and I have a little pup (she’s not a pup anymore) named Bella. She’s a Cockalier, a mix between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Cocker Spaniel. When I was working for other people I felt sad leaving my dogs at home (those eyes!) but now I don’t have to. I get to work with Bella snuggled at my feet.
My family loves little Bella too so when my sister wrote her first novel she named the main character after our little snuggle-buggle-cutie-pie-puppy. You can now follow Bella at @littlesnugglebugglecutiepiepuppy on twitter.
Not really. ;-)
Though if you’re a dog lover, you can meet Bella here. I hope you’ll consider staying in touch by signing up for email updates so you don’t miss anything. I look forward to getting to know you!
